Bed End Construction

Posts are 1-1/2 In. square x 18 gauge weld seam tubing. Posts at top of two ends are capped and two ends are left open for insertion of adapters. Panels are formed of 20 gauge cold rolled sheet metal with top and bottom edges folded over 20 gauge reinforcing inserts. Each section contains one cross tube that is 1 In. square x 18 gauge weld seam tube. Locks are double hook type made from 7 gauge cold rolled steel and are welded to the post. Bed ends are welded securely unitizing panel members, posts, locks and cross tubes. Four 8-3/4 In. adapter tubes are inserted in posts prior to painting. Adapters are made using 1-1/2 In. square 18 gauge tube with inside sheet metal sleeve extending 4 In. from each end. Sleeves are a snug fit in top and bottom post. Panels are 10 In. high.

Spring Construction

Side rails are 2 In. x 1-1/2 In. x 5/32 rail steel angle with a 2 In. flange vertical and to the outside. End angles are 2 In. x 1-1/2 In. x 5/32 rail steel angle with 1-1/2 In. flange vertical and to the outside. All four corners are braced with 1 In. x 11 gauge steel with 2 In. shoulder rivets to fit double hook locks are riveted to side rails. Two 1 In. round 16 gauge center stretcher tubes are riveted to side angles. Each sleeping surface consists of 15 strands of 9 gauge (Z) hook type action springs connected to each other by 4 rows of 13 gauge high carbon wire links and connected to each end angle with 5 pieces of 12 gauge tightly wound helicals.

Paint Finish

All parts are cleaned, phosphatized and powder coated medium brown.

Packing

Springs are packaged 2 per box (37 In. x 78 In. x 3 In.) and is 102 lbs. Headboards/Footboards are packaged 2 per box (37 In. x 68 In. x 6 In.) and is 68 lbs.

The Height Of the Bed is 68 In. to the Highest Point.
